To compete with cable companies, and DIRECTV, Dish Network is giving away satellite TV systems to people who subscribe to their services. But what equipment you get for free, and what equipment should you pay?

Free Dish Network Satellite Equipment

The following equipment free entry if you join the Dish Network:

Satellite TV Dish

A satellite TV dish to catch signals from satellites orbiting the earth. Signals sent an LNB (The noise block) converter which enlarges and send a signal receiver.

Satellite TV receiver

A recipient of the satellite TV satellite TV signal and sends it to the television. Dish Network will provide free satellite TV antenna that will allow you to see four shows on four different television. This receiver features an electronic program guide, parental locks, and plate Home Interactive TV.

Dish Network currently running a campaign that allows you to upgrade to a DVR (digital video recorder) receiver or HD (high definition) receiver for free.

The DVR digital receiver allows you to record up to 100 hours of satellite TV programs, and pause live TV so you can get the answer phone or snack. Recipient HD allows you to view satellite TV in high definition format.

All recipients came to the village that all the controls that allow you to work your TV plus satellite TV receiver, DVD player, and VCR.

Pay-To Dish Network Satellite TV Equipment

For an additional $199 you can buy a DVR / HD combination receiver. Recipients can provide high definition and standard-definition broadcasts, and articles 250 GB hard drive that can digitally record up to 180 hours of programs.

Dish Network Satellite TV Programming

Dish Network currently has 350 channel satellite TV programming which include movie channels, sports packages, Sirius satellite radio, news and weather channels, sports channels, pay-per-view movies and pay-per-view special events.

Five satellite TV offers Package: 40-channel Dish Family package $19.99 per month, 75-channel America's Top 60 package of $29.99 per month, 230-channel America's Top 120 package * $29.99 per month, 318-channel america's Top 180 package $74.99 per month, and 350-channel package is All American $74.99 per month.

* Note: Dish Network America's's Top 120 package $29.99 for the first ten months, then $39.99 thereafter. Add $5 per month to receive local channels.
